32 mln ton Turkmen oil transported through BTC so far

A delegation led by SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf has visited Ashgabat, Turkmenistan to attend the “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan-2022” international conference and expo held on theme “The future of the energy-new challenges and opportunities”, SOCAR told APA-Economics.

While delivering a speech in the plenary session of the conference, Rovshan Najaf briefed the contract-legal base that create a basis for the development of cooperation in different fields between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.

SOCAR President also highlighted that MoU on joint exploration of hydrocarbon resources of “Dostluq” (Friendship) oil and gas field, its processing and assimilation opens up new opportunities for both countries in terms of beneficial cooperation in the oil and gas sector.

R. Najaf stressed the significance of the Southern Gas Corridor not only for both countries but also other regions.
Noting that 32 mln ton Turkmenistan oil has been exported to the world markets through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, Rovshan Najaf also talked about the diversified activities of SOCAR in the oil and gas sector, the opportunities it has in the Caspian basin and its long-term strategic goals.
