Azerbaijan raises oil exports by 21% in Jan-July

Baku. Vugar Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. 22.3 million metric tons of oil flowed abroad from Azerbaijan during January-July, up 20.6% from the same period a year earlier.
Of this, 21.487 million tons was exported by Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC), a BP-led consortium of foreign petroleum companies, 23.4% higher from a year earlier, AIOC told APA-Economics.
574 800 tons of oil was transported by rail to Batumi in Georgia over this period, a 23.4% decline from the same period last year.
Oil was not pumped through the Western Route Export Pipeline to Supsa from Baku as the pipeline is currently shut down.
AIOC didnâ€™t export any oil through the Northern Route Export Pipeline to Novorossiysk Port while SOCAR exported 813 100 tons.
Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline delivered 20.913 million tons of oil to Ceyhan Terminal of Turkey, up 30.5% from a year earlier.
Azerbaijan exported a total of 30.579 million tons of oil during 2007, up 35.9% from 2006.
