Tatarstan to export cargo and passenger ships to Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and the Republic of Tatarstan (Russia) have agreed on cooperation, said Tatarstan’s permanent representative to Azerbaijan Nail Zaripov.
He added that Tatarstan will export tankers, cargo vessels and 60-100 passenger ships (for Oil Rocks) to Azerbaijan.
“SOCAR’s fleet is obsolete and Tatarstan has a large shipbuilding plant. We stand ready to assist Azerbaijan,†he noted.
According to him, negotiations and discussions are under way.
He said Tatarstan may also export military, rescue, passenger and other-purposed boats and ships if Azerbaijan needs.
