Haji Mammadov: I was hanged for six minutes, my effort to commit suicide failed

Defendant Haji Mammadov gave last statement in the trail today.
â€œI did not have any hope to live up to now. I wanted to commit suicide on March 10, 2005. On March 24 at about 4, 30, I used my shirt and hanged myself from the window of the cell. I was hanged for six minutes and do not believe how I could survive. When I was taken to the hospital 80 per cent of my brains were destroyed. After this incident I looked for the ways to commit suicide again. The reason was I felt shame in front of society, my friends and companions. The considered crimes in this trial may be 30 per cent of crimes that I committed and the people that are sitting here may be the half of my gang. The public prosecutors asked 293 years for me and may be this number will be increased in the further trials. Because I gave information about Javadaga Sultanov and other crimes that I committed in the parallel court investigations. If the trial of Javadaga will be held, it would be more boisterous than mine. I took the money from wealthy people, but Javadagaâ€™s victims are either in grave-yard or in lives in rent house. When Javadaga gave testimony he said that he informed Maharram Aliyev about what he did. As Maharram Aliyev was general he was not called to court, but it could be possible to ask him whether Javadaga lied or not. All the ones sitting here are the members of my gang, but those who are higher in rank can not be the member of my gang,â€? he said.
Haji Mammadov treated the net of the ones who was at the head of the crimes as osminog (octopus).
â€œSix-five members of my gang and I are one finger of octopus. In the period that I was here that octopus brought up and there are the fingers bigger that I am,â€? he said.
Speaking about Rena Nesibova Haji Mammadov said that she was one of the activists Husain Abdullvahabovâ€™s group.
â€œHusain used Rena and got her money. Husain and his bothers stood at the head of her death. Husain told me about Rena and said that she drove well. We are sitting here because of Husain I can not call the names of some people and make them come here. Husain wanted to blackmail in the court but he did not know the result of the one who wants to blackmail me,â€? he added.
Haji Mammadov stressed that he will give information about the reasons of criminalist Rovshan Aliyevâ€™s assassination.
â€œRovshanâ€™s family knows who the contractor of his death is. I told Rovshen about it before his death and he spoke about it at home. I understood it during Irade Guliyevaâ€™s testimony. When I told Rovshen to be careful, I was not contracted to his death. I know the reason of Rovshenâ€™s death; it is the biggest foot of Osminog (octopus). I promised Fetulla Huseynovâ€™s son that I will tell him who his fatherâ€™s contractor was. Now I know that that person is the person that Tahir knows. The two who is sitting here knows the contractor of Zamireâ€™s kidnapping. The victim knows him too, but she has no courage to confront with him,â€? he added.
Haji Mammadov said that he does not repent of killing Shirkhan Albiyev, Borris Eyyubov and Azer Ismayilov.
â€œYou feel great pleasure when you win your enemy. I did not hit him on back, he stood in front of me on his knees and I talked to him and finished my mission. They wee my enemies and threatened me with my family, dishonoured me. I wanted to tell many things about Azer, but I will keep them as secret,â€? he said.
