7th meeting of Azerbaijan-EU Inter-parliamentary Partnership Committee takes place

The head of Azerbaijani delegation Valeh Aleskerov, Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammadguliyev, the head of permanent Azerbaijani delegation to the EU Arif Mammadov, Deputy Economic Development Minister Sevinj Hasanova and parliamentarians participated in the meeting. The head of Inter-parliamentary partnership committee Marie-Ann Isler Beguin led the meeting. Besides, Klaus Korhonen, Deputy Director General for the Department for Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia on behalf of the EU, and EC International Relations Department Coordinator for Azerbaijan Giuseppe Buzzini also participated in the meeting. European Neighborhood Policy and the current situation of Azerbaijan-EU cooperation, improvements in this field, and political situation in Azerbaijan, human rights and democratic development, development of civil society in our country, reforms in the system of social security, protection of environment were discussed at the meeting. Azerbaijani parliamentarians gave wide information about these issues to the participants and answered the questions of the EU representatives. The 7th meeting of the Azerbaijan-EU Interparliamentary Partnership Committee will finish today evening and members of the Azerbaijani delegation will return to Baku today. /APA/
