Turkish Film Festival to take place in US

US Azeri and Turkish Diasporas will actively participate in the 12th New York Turkish Film Festival that will be held on December 3-5 and 10-12, 2010 at the School of Visual Arts Theatre in New York City, APA’s Washington DC correspondent has learned from the Diaspora members.
“Now celebrating its twelfth year, the New York Turkish Film Festival has drawn more than 8,000 viewers to date, screening over 300 inspiring, handpicked films including Turkish contemporary, early classic, documentary and short films. This year’s festival will screen a selection of 12 feature films and 9 short films†–the organizers of the event mentioned.
The 12th New York Turkish Film Festival is sponsored by a generous grant from the Turkish Cultural Foundation and by public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, celebrating 50 years of building strong, creative communities in New York State’s 62 counties.
The festival is also supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
The line-up for the 12th New York Turkish Film Festival includes an impressive selection, ranging from documentaries to dramas, and portrays intriguing stories and colorful characters from everyday life.
