US-based Karabakh Foundation to hold its first event in Azerbaijan

Baku. Ulkar Gasimova â€“ APA. US-based Karabakh Foundation will hold its first event in Azerbaijan at the central exhibition hall named after Settar Behlulzadeh, press service of the foundation told APA. Karabakh Foundation is going to hold exhibition of young artist Halima Asgarova â€œMy Shushaâ€ in Baku and Washington. Public figures, art and culture figures, diplomats of foreign embassies in Azerbaijan, representatives of Nagorno Karabakhâ€™s Azerbaijani community have been invited to the exhibition in Baku. The second similar exhibition will be held in Washington in 2011.

Karabakh Foundation has appealed to Washington mayorâ€™s office for declaring March, 2011 the Year of Azerbaijani Culture, talks continue. The foundation is going to publish and present the book on Karabakh cuisine in October.

Founded in the US in November, 2009, the Karabakh Foundation is a 501 ( c ) (3) charitable non-profit organization that aims to research, publish, educate and present more facts about the Azerbaijani and Caucasus regionâ€™s history, especially in regards to the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan. Main activities include preserving and disseminating cultural content via archival collecting, public programs, publications, exhibitions, speaking forums, international collaborations, scholarly exchange, artistic sponsorship, and related venues.
