International conference on “The process of south-eastern European cooperation†held in Istanbul

Baku – APA. International conference on “The process of south-eastern European cooperation†was held in Istanbul, Islamic Conference Youth Forum (ICYF) told APA. The event was organized by a European youth organization COJEP, Council of Europe and European Youth Forum under the auspices of ICYF and Turkey. The event aimed at strengthening the role of the youth in the neighborhood relations among the countries located in the Balkan region.
Addressing the opening of the conference ICYF Secretary General, Ambassador Elshad Isgandarov and Vice-President of COJEP Veysel Filiz called on the young leaders to be active in the discussions and put forward new ideas.
Young leaders representing Greece, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and other countries of the region attended the conference. Discussions were held in the working groups on themes “Education and intercultural dialogueâ€, “Stereotypes: mass media and civil societyâ€, “The role of the youth in the resolution of the conflictsâ€, “The role of the young businessmen in eliminating the unemploymentâ€.
Humanitarian disasters of the 20th century were discussed in the working group on theme “The role of the youth in the resolution of the conflictsâ€. Ieva Lukoseviciute, Lithuanian national coordinator for “Justice for Khojaly†campaign initiated by Leyla Aliyeva, General Coordinator for Intercultural Dialogue of ICYF, gave information about the activities carried out within the framework of the campaign since 2008. The final Istanbul declaration covered the proposal to hold the campaign in the south-eastern European countries, mechanisms of activity of the south-eastern European youth network founded during the conference.
