The National Olympic Committee (NOC) will appeal to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) over the loss of quality of medals won by Azerbaijani athletes at the Paris Olympics, Murad Farzaliyev, the press secretary of the National Olympic Committee told APA.
He underlined that detailed investigations are being conducted into the problems of medalists whose medals were damaged at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games: "So far, this problem has been discovered in the medals of two of our athletes. After the results of the investigations, the issue will be clarified and an appeal will be made to the IOC."
Noted that the medals of two Azerbaijani athletes who were among the medalists at the Summer Olympic Games held in the French capital Paris last year were damaged.
The silver medal of Gashim Magomedov, who won second place in taekwondo, and the bronze medal of Hasrat Jafarov, who took third place in wrestling, have lost their quality.
