The Azerbaijani national team, which successfully performed at the Paris XXXIII Summer Olympic Games, has returned home, APA reports.
The plane carrying our delegation landed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport at night.
At the airport, the athletes were met by members of the media, fans and athletes' relatives.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan, represented by 48 athletes in 15 sports, won 7 medals at the "Paris-2024" Summer Olympic Games. Our country shared the 30th-31st places in the medal standings with Croatia.
Judokas Hidayat Heydarov (73 kilograms) and Zelim Kotsoyev (100 kilograms) became Olympic champions in the Azerbaijan team.
Taekwondo player Gashim Magomedov (58 kilograms) and boxer Alfonso Dominguez (92 kilograms) won silver medals, Greco-Roman wrestler Hasrat Jafarov (67 kilograms), freestyle wrestlers Magomedkhan Magomedov (97 kilograms) and Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125 kilograms) won bronze medals.
