A panel on “Multimodal transportation in the Caspian region: Prospects and challenges in ensuring efficient transport logistics” was organized within the framework of the 22nd Caspian International Transport, Transit and Logistics Exhibition (“TransLogistica Caspian”), Azerbaijan Railways CJSC told APA.
According to information, the panel discussions were attended by Natig Rasulzade, Deputy Director of the Marketing and Tariff Policy Department of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY), Khudayar Hasanli, Head of the Strategic Planning and Development Department of the Baku International Sea Trade Port, and Rashad Majidov, Chief Operations Officer of ADY Express LLC.
The participants noted the increasing role of Azerbaijan in transportation carried out via the Middle Corridor, and the creation of a unified coordination system with the countries participating in the corridor in order to optimize operations. It was especially noted that the Middle Corridor is a strategic route free from sanctions.
During the discussions, it was noted that the volume of freight transportation via railways and sea crossings is expected to increase in the coming years, and this trend will create new opportunities for the Azerbaijani economy.
