"The European Union is taking a disruptive stance in its relations with Georgia," Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili said while commenting on Georgia's exclusion from the EU enlargement forum to be held in Brussels next month, APA's local bureau reports.
He emphasized that Georgia maintains a constructive position in its relations with the EU.
"We are ready to wait for them at the negotiating table. I believe confrontation is not a way out. In cases where the European Union has pursued confrontation, the bloc itself has lost and found itself in a very difficult situation, pushing other countries towards even more serious mistakes. It is time for the European Union to return to a constructive path," the Speaker added.
The Parliament Speaker also noted that the EU's foreign policy is immature and that major powers do not regard the bloc as a global power.
