Azerbaijan's revenues from sea freight transportation increased by more than 20%

In the first half of this year, revenues from freight and passenger transportation by sea in Azerbaijan amounted to 130,079 thousand manats, which is 19.4% more compared to the corresponding period of 2024 (108,971.9 thousand manats), APA-Economics reports citing calculations based on data from the State Statistical Committee.

According to the information, during the reporting period, revenues from freight transportation by sea amounted to 129,956 thousand manats, which is 20.2% more compared to the figures for January–June of last year (108,151.9 thousand manats).

Azərbaycanda bu ilin birinci yarısında dəniz nəqliyyatı ilə yük və sərnişin daşımalarından 130 079 min manat gəlir əldə olunub, bu da 2024-cü ilin müvafiq dövrünün göstəricisi (108 971,9 min manat) ilə müqayisədə 19,4% çoxdur.

It should also be noted that in the first half of the current year, revenues from passenger transportation by sea amounted to 123 thousand manats, which is 85% less compared to the corresponding period of last year (820 thousand manats).

Recall that in Azerbaijan, 4,611.5 thousand tons of cargo and 12.8 thousand passengers were transported by sea during January–June 2025. This represents an 11.8% increase and a 4.5% decrease respectively in annual comparison.
