Another two convicted of killing businessman in Azerbaijan detained

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. Two more people who are convicted of killing a businessman in Azerbaijan’s Gabala district a year ago have been detained.

A criminal case has been launched on the fact that the corpse of Gabala resident Vahid Vahabov, who had been shot dead, was found dead in his house on Nov.24, 2014, said a joint statement issued by the Interior Ministry and Prosecutor General’s Office.

The investigation revealed that Vahid Vahabov’s neighbor Joshgun Kerimbeyli told his close friends, members of the radical extremist religious sect, ex-inmates Nuraddin Khalilov, Mushfig Mikayiloghlu, Rashad Hashimbeyli and Ahmad Kerimov that he is a rich man. They went to Gabala by a car they robbed on that date, broke into the apartment of Vahabov at night, killed him with a firearm and injured his wife.

As a result of operation-search measures, a number of members of the criminal gang have been brought to justice.

As a result of a series of measures taken by the officers of the internal affairs and prosecuting authorities, two more members of the organized group who were the organizers and active participants of that murder and several other grave crimes and avoided investigation, Joshgun Karimbayli and Ahmed Karimov were detained. Thus, the number of detained members of the criminal gang reached 18.

Necessary investigation and operation-search measures are underway.
