Government agencies building their artificial intelligence solutions on services provided by foreign companies may face additional security and sustainability risks, Nadir Novruzov, Head of Department at the State Service for Special Communication and Information Security, said at the 8th Summit of Information Security Leaders held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.

According to him, the dependence of artificial intelligence solutions on application programming interfaces (APIs) provided by foreign suppliers requires special attention.

"If tomorrow any country or the provider of that service stops providing services to us, how will our artificial intelligence solution function? How will we prevent dependence on APIs? These issues also need to be taken into consideration," Nadir Novruzov emphasized.

He stated that the implementation of artificial intelligence also leads to the emergence of new methods of cyberattacks.

According to the department head, these include prompt injection, model poisoning, and the activities of autonomous attack agents.

Nadir Novruzov noted that autonomous attack agents are already capable of conducting reconnaissance, exploiting security vulnerabilities, collecting data, and spreading within networks.

He emphasized that information security officials at government agencies should consider in advance how to develop defense mechanisms against such threats.
