US President Donald Trump has said European countries should tighten their migration policies, APA reports.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump criticised Europe’s approach to migration while referring to unrest in France.
He said he had previously told French President Emmanuel Macron that his migration policy was wrong.
Trump claimed that continued current trends could significantly change the religious composition of Paris’s population.
“Europe is not closing its borders or removing criminals from the country. Europe will come to an end,” he said.
The US president urged European countries to strengthen border controls and deport foreign nationals who commit crimes.
Citing unrest in France and Italy, he called on European governments to reinforce security measures.
Trump’s remarks about Europe’s future and the religious composition of Paris reflect his personal political assessment.
