A fatal road incident in Azerbaijan’s Bilasuvar district claimed five lives after a “Lexus” sedan veered off the road and plunged into the "Janub-Mugan" irrigation canal near Zhahmatabad village, APA reports.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, rescue teams arrived promptly but found all five occupants trapped inside the submerged vehicle. The victims were identified as driver Vasif Hasanli and passengers Rusif Hasanli, Ildırım Hasanli, Mahammad Məmmədli and Əliqardash Rasulzada.

Two of the victims, Vasif and Rusif Hasanli, were brothers.
Preliminary information suggests the car lost control on a sharp turn before sliding into the canal.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
