A criminal case has been initiated regarding the fire that occurred in Lokbatan, APA reports, citing the Press Service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
According to the information, a criminal case has been initiated under Articles 124.2 (causing the death of two or more persons by negligence) and 225.3 (when violation of fire safety rules causing the death of two or more persons by negligence) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan in connection with the fire in a multi-storey residential building located in the “Gobu Park-1” residential complex in Lokbatan settlement, Garadagh district, Baku city, which resulted in the death of four people, and the preliminary investigation has been entrusted to the Department of Criminalistics and Information Technologies of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
Within the framework of the criminal case, an inspection of the scene was conducted with the participation of the relevant state bodies, including employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the relevant experts; physical evidence was collected, and other necessary initial investigative actions were carried out.
A complete, objective, and comprehensive investigation will be conducted in the case to ensure the adoption of a lawful decision.
