All of those poisoned by carbon monoxide are women, said Tahira Mammadova, an infectious disease specialist at the Emergency Department of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Infectious Diseases Center to APA's local bureau.
"23 people were admitted to the emergency department of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Infectious Diseases Center with suspicion of carbon monoxide poisoning. Eight of those admitted had symptoms characteristic of carbon monoxide poisoning."
The doctor noted that the patients were provided with primary medical care and kept under observation for a long time: "All of the patients who applied were women. After the patients' condition stabilized, they were discharged home. Currently, we do not have any patients hospitalized."

Mass gas poisoning occurred in Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan, APA's local bureau reports.
The incident occurred in the village of Kultepe, Babek district.
More than 20 people were poisoned during a funeral ceremony as a result of a gas leak.
They were placed in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Center for Infectious Diseases.
An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
