Murderers of businessman Igbal Mahmudov arrested in Ukraine

Baku - APA. Ukrainian Law Defense Office detained 4 suspects dealing with the killing of Igbal Mahmudov, the chairman of Donetsk regional unit of the Congress of Azerbaijanis in Ukraine. The head of Donetsk Department of Ukrainian Law Defense Office Victor Dubovik said that the suspectsâ€™ evidences confirm their involvement in contract killing: â€œWe elucidate the reasons. The detainees are still interrogated, the evidences are searched. There are a promoter and perpetrators in this criminal caseâ€. Victor Dubovik ruled out the version of killing by reason of discrimination.

â€œThe group of detained suspects is international. There are residents of Azerbaijan, Ukraine and other countries. Itâ€™s out of question that there may be discrimination reasonsâ€.

Igbal Mahmudov, the chairman of Donetsk regional unit of the Congress of Azerbaijanis in Ukraine was killed on May 9. Two unknown persons on motorcycles approached him when he got off the car and was going towards war veterans, whom he had to meet on the Day of Victory. One of the unknown persons shot the businessman for 5 times. Mahmudov was urgently hospitalized, but doctors couldnâ€™t save his life.
