Azerbaijanis fought against NATO forces are sentenced

Baku. Farid Akbarov â€“ APA. The Court of Grave Crimes has finished hearing on the case of Azerbaijanis â€“ Ismayilov Rashad Museyib, Mammadov Ilgar Mazahir and Musayev Ramin Khanoglan, who along with the radical religious armed groups participated in the fights against NATO forces in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The accused persons were sentenced in process led by Judge Rasim Sadikhov, APA reports. According to the court decision, Rashad Sadikhov was sentenced to 5 years, Ramin Musayev to 3 years and Ilgar Mammadov to a year of imprisonment.

The accused persons faced with charges under Criminal Codeâ€™s articles â„– 12.1 and â„– 279.1

According to the indictment, the accused persons participated in the fights against NATO forces being along with armed units in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Rashad Mammadov had been wounded in one of the fights. All the 3 persons were detained by the Pakistani law enforcement bodies and extradited to Azerbaijan.
