Prosecutor General’s Office confirms report about launch of criminal case on election irregularities in Goychay-Aghdash ConEC #89

The criminal case concerns the interference in the voting process, violation of the electoral legislation by the candidate Vidadi Isgandarov.

Prosecutor General’s Office investigated the report sent by Goychay-Aghdash ConEC #89.

As a result of the investigation, criminal case has been launched on the fact on article 159.4.1 (prevention of voting rights by threatening, using force) and 160.2.1 (interfering or influencing the work of the election commissions by threatening, using force or threatening to use force) of the Criminal Code. Department for Investigating Grave Crimes is carrying out the investigation.

At the meeting of the Plenum of the Constitutional Court on November 27, judge rapporteur Rafael Gvaladze said criminal case was launched on one of the appeals concerning election irregularities in Goychay-Aghdash ConEC #89. According to the judge, criminal case concerns the interference of the ConEC’s candidate in the voting process.

CEC declared Shamsaddin Hajiyev winner from that ConEC.
