The United States singles out three main directions for implementing economic reforms and strengthening economy, US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta told reporters in Baku on Tuesday.
The ambassador noted that the main purpose of the US trade mission’s visit to Azerbaijan is to further develop trade and commercial relations.
Cekuta hailed the continuation of the course of reforms in Azerbaijan.
“It’s difficult to carry out reforms. We see what kind of competition is observed on a global scale,” the ambassador said. “We single out three main directions (the rule of law; the fight against corruption; the transparency of the system, prediction ability, and the availability of information) for implementing reforms and strengthening economy.”
“We conduct similar discussions with many countries,” Cekuta said adding that steps to be taken towards the abovementioned directions will contribute to an even greater development of bilateral business relations.
