Moscow has sent a protest note to Tokyo over the deployment of US Typhon missile systems on Kyushu Island, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said, APA's Moscow bureau reports.
According to her, Moscow demanded in the protest note that the missile systems be removed from Japanese territory.
The document emphasized that the deployment of Typhon missile systems, designed to launch intermediate- and shorter-range missiles, on Japanese territory under any pretext is unacceptable.
It also stressed the importance of Japan's leadership recognizing the outcomes of World War II, including the territorial aspects concerning the southern Kuril Islands.
