The average price of diesel in France has reached a record high, exceeding €2.39 per liter, Le Figaro said, APA reports.
The newspaper reported this based on AFP's price calculations at more than 9,000 filling stations across France.
According to the report, the new price record slightly exceeded the previous peak recorded in April 2026, when the average price of diesel was just over €2.38 per liter.
The average price of SP95-E10 gasoline, the most widely used fuel in France, has also risen to €2.17 per liter. According to the newspaper, the price of this fuel has remained above the previous record of €2.11, set on June 14, 2022, for more than 10 days.
Rising fuel prices in France have led to an increase in protests.
French President Emmanuel Macron has instructed the government to mobilize all resources to safeguard the country's fuel supply and prevent further price increases.
