Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), one of the companies under AZCON Holding, has been named "Best Regional Airline in Central Asia and CIS" at the 2026 World Airline Awards. The ceremony, organized by international air transport rating organization Skytrax, was held at The Langham hotel in London on September 18, 2026, AZAL told APA-Economics.
According to the airline, the award reflects its continued efforts to improve the passenger experience through fleet modernization, expansion of its route network and enhancement of services.
Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted stated: "Azerbaijan Airlines has strengthened its exemplary position in regional airline services in Central Asia and the CIS. This award demonstrates the airline's commitment to continuous development through expanding its fleet and route network, as well as improving service quality."
Samir Rzayev, Chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan Airlines, noted: "This achievement belongs to our employees, whose dedicated work shapes our passengers' travel experience every day.
