The European Union (EU) has included the Georgia–Romania “Black Sea Interconnector Cable” project in its list of Projects of Common Interest (PCI) and Projects of Mutual Interest (PMI), the European Commission said in a statement, APA-Economics reports.

The Commission has granted PCI and PMI status to 235 projects aimed at developing transnational energy infrastructure. These projects will be eligible to apply for funding under the EU’s Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) and will benefit from advantages such as accelerated permitting and regulatory procedures.

Note that the Georgia–Romania “Black Sea Interconnector Cable” project may become part of the “Caspian–Black Sea–Europe Green Energy Corridor.”
