The 4th meeting of the trade ministers of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation was held in Cairo, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Ministry of Economy told APA-Economics.
According to the information, Deputy Minister of Economy Samad Bashirli, speaking at the meeting, emphasized that Azerbaijan has effective partnership relations with the D-8 countries. It was noted that the D-8 organization is an effective platform for strengthening trade resilience among member states, diversifying markets, and expanding economic cooperation. The importance of discussions within the organization on increasing trade volumes and forming more efficient economic relations was highlighted. Information was provided about the favorable business environment in Azerbaijan, the country’s strategic transport-logistics advantages, industrial potential, and extensive investment opportunities.
At the event, discussions were held on deepening trade integration among member countries, increasing investment flows, promoting sustainable development, and expanding knowledge exchange. The significance of organizing trade forums, reciprocal visits of delegations, and establishing direct business relations was particularly emphasized to elevate economic cooperation to a new level. It was noted that joint efforts need to be strengthened to increase trade turnover among D-8 countries.
The meeting was attended by trade ministers and delegations of the D-8 member states, and the Cairo Declaration on Trade Cooperation was adopted.
