CBA: Annual inflation remains within target range

The decision on the parameters of the interest rate corridor was made taking into account the dynamics of actual and projected inflation, as well as developments in the domestic financial market, APA-Economics reports, citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

While the upward revision of the inflation forecast called for tighter monetary policy, the significant excess of foreign currency supply over demand supported a looser monetary policy. The balance between these factors led to the decision to keep the interest rate corridor parameters unchanged.

Annual inflation remains within the target range and continues to follow the projected trajectory under the baseline scenario. Twelve-month inflation stood at 5.8% in June 2026. Annual price growth amounted to 7.1% for food products, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products, 5.6% for paid services, and 3.8% for non-food products. Annual core inflation stood at 5.5%.
