In the third quarter of 2025, the total deficit of Azerbaijan's balance of payments amounted to 1.1 billion USD, APA-Economics reports.
This was announced at a press conference held by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan on the results of the balance of payments for 9 months. For comparison, the balance of payments for 9 months of 2024 was in surplus by 181.6 million USD.
In this context, the country's strategic currency assets amounted to 81.5 billion USD.
It was noted that a surplus of 3 billion USD was recorded in the balance of current operations (a surplus of 4.0 billion USD in 9 months of 2024).
It was reported at the press conference that the average price of crude oil during the reporting period was 70 USD/barrel. For comparison, in 9 months of 2024 this indicator was formed at the level of 86 USD/barrel. The price of natural gas increased by 12% to $294 per thousand cubic meters.
