A meeting was held at the State Customs Committee with a delegation headed by Yaşar Baltacı, Deputy Head of the General Directorate of Customs Enforcement of the customs service of the Republic of Türkiye, the State Customs Committee said, APA-Economics reports.
At the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the relations between the customs authorities of the two countries, jointly implemented projects, and the work carried out toward studying and sharing best practices.
The meeting also discussed prospects for cooperation in simplifying customs procedures, facilitating the easy and rapid transportation of cargo along the Middle Corridor, and accelerating transit.
As part of the visit, members of the delegation also visited the Academy of the State Customs Committee, the General Customs Department for Air Transport, and the Canine Center. The members of the delegation, who familiarized themselves with scientific research conducted in the field of customs and institutional approaches, were provided with detailed information about the activities of customs authorities in the canine field, as well as the organization of customs operations in air transport, and an exchange of views was held on strengthening cooperation in the areas of customs violations, risk management, and the fight against smuggling and illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs.
