Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economic Development visits Jordan – <font color=red>PHOTO </font>

Baku. Vahab Rzayev - APA-Economics. The delegation led by the Co-chair of Azerbaijan-Jordan Intergovernmental Commission, Minister of Economic Development of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev has paid visit to Jordan.

Azerbaijani embassy in Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan told APA that Azerbaijani delegation was received by Prime Minister Awn Khasawneh.

The meeting discussed the cooperation in economic sphere and mutual capital investment between the two countries. Noting that Jordan is the most stabile country in the region, Khasawneh emphasized Jordan’s political stability and investment conducive environment.

In turn, Mustafayev spoke about the activity of intergovernmental joint commission in direction of development of economic cooperation between both countries.

The meeting was attended by Industry and Trade Minister Sami Gammoh and Planning and International Cooperation Minister Jafar Hassan. Khasawneh also highlighted economic challenges facing Jordan, in light of the increase in fuel prices and the disruption of gas supplies from Egypt.

During a broader meeting held at the Ministry of Industry and Trade with the Azeri minister and his accompanying delegation, Gammoh spoke about newly drafted legislation, seeking to regulate and boost economic activity in the country.

Besides highlighting investment opportunities available in the field of tourism and energy, Gammoh said: "We will also focus on investments in other sectors, mainly the agricultural sector."

The two sides discussed means to increase and diversify Jordan’s exports to Azerbaijan and the possibility of launching joint investment projects in Aqaba and the development zones.

Azerbaijani ambassador to Jordan E.Arasli attended at the meetings and negotiations.
