Ukraine has proposed to Russia a mutual halt to attacks on commercial vessels in the Black Sea, APA reports.
Ukrainian media reports that the initiative was conveyed to Moscow through Türkiye's mediation.
According to the Ukrainian side, more than 218 vessels have come under attack in the Black Sea since July. Kyiv claims that Russia's strikes on grain-carrying vessels near Odesa have effectively halted the country's exports by sea.
Russia, meanwhile, has stated that it has not officially received any proposal on imposing a moratorium on military operations in the Black Sea.
According to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko, calls for moratorium and ceasefire initiatives have recently been received through various channels. However, in his opinion, none of these proposals has yet been officially presented to the Russian side.
