The next round of talks between Israeli and Lebanese delegations, which was expected to take place in Rome, has been postponed until October, APA reports.
Barak Ravid, a reporter for Axios and Israel’s Channel 12, said on X, citing a U.S. official, that the talks had initially been scheduled for next week in Rome but were postponed.
Instead, the Israeli and Lebanese ambassadors to the United States are expected to meet at the U.S. State Department in Washington. They will discuss recent developments and the implementation of the framework agreement between the two countries.
The U.S. official said the next round of formal talks between Israel and Lebanon is now expected to be held in Rome in October.
According to Axios, one of the reasons for the postponement is that the parties are preparing for other events, including the high-level week of the United Nations General Assembly.
