The volume of Azerbaijan’s investments in Georgia’s economy amounted to $45.3 million in the first half of this year, APA’s local bureau reports, citing a preliminary report by the National Statistics Office of Georgia.
Azerbaijan invested $21 million in the neighboring country in the first quarter and $24.3 million in the second quarter.
On an annual basis, the volume of investments decreased by 22.5%.
In the second quarter, Azerbaijan ranked seventh among the top ten countries investing the most in Georgia.
During the reporting period, Georgia’s economy attracted a total of $468.8 million in investments, down 23.2% compared with the same period last year.
Georgia’s three largest investor countries were China ($219.5 million), the United Kingdom ($123.5 million), and the UAE ($47.7 million).
