Customs representation will be re-institutionalized, the concept of “customs broker” will be replaced with “indirect customs representation,” a register will be created, direct customs representation will be introduced, and the licensing requirement in this field will be abolished, APA reports.
This is reflected in the draft amendments to the Customs Code submitted for discussion at the Milli Majlis on May 1.
According to the draft, indirect customs representation will be carried out by legal entities through inclusion in the register, while direct representation will be possible by individuals on the basis of a power of attorney. The licensing requirement for carrier activity will also be abolished, and the list of persons participating in this field will be posted on the official website.
