The mutual recognition of electronic signatures and the integration of digital document circulation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye have been technically completed, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samir Mammadov said during the “Azerbaijan–Türkiye Business Forum: Digital Transformation and Technology Bridge,” APA-Economics reports.
S. Mammadov noted that all technical processes and testing phases related to the mutual recognition of electronic signatures between the two countries have been finalized:
“At present, work is underway on jointly developing the relevant regulatory and legal framework to ensure the process enters into full legal force. We hope that this stage will also be completed in the near future.
Azerbaijan has identified digital transformation as one of the key priorities of state policy and is implementing large-scale reforms in this direction. Within the framework of the ‘Online Azerbaijan’ project, broadband internet access has already been provided to all villages across the country.”
S. Mammadov also emphasized that Azerbaijan’s digital economy development concept was approved last year, forming a unified digital approach for citizens, businesses, and the state:
“Within the framework of the concept, the main goals include the digitalization of public services, reducing the administrative burden for businesses, and increasing the accessibility of services.
At the same time, Azerbaijan’s transition to a paperless government has already been completed. This makes it possible to prevent the cutting down of approximately 5,700 trees each year.”
