In January–March of this year, 6,540.9 kWh of electricity was generated in Azerbaijan, which represents a 3% decrease compared to the same period last year, APA-Economics reports, citing the State Statistical Committee.
According to the data, 6,342.6 kWh of the electricity produced in the country during the reporting period accounted for marketable output (a decrease of 2.6%).
The largest share of electricity production in the country—5,466.3 kWh—came from thermal power plants, which is 4.3% lower than in January–March 2025.
During January–March of the current year, the remaining electricity produced in Azerbaijan was generated by hydropower plants, as well as other alternative and renewable energy sources.
It should also be noted that during the reporting period, wind power plants in Azerbaijan generated 233 million kWh of electricity, which is an increase of 51.8 times compared to the same period last year.
