Volume of oil transported via Baku–Supsa pipeline to date revealed

Since the commissioning of the Baku–Supsa pipeline until April 1, 2026, a total of 738 million barrels of oil have been transported through it, APA-Economics reports, citing SOCAR.

According to the information, the pipeline holds an important place in Azerbaijan’s modern energy strategy, ensuring access of Azerbaijani oil to global markets via the Black Sea.

It is noted that the Baku–Supsa oil pipeline was commissioned on April 17, 1999.

“As one of the first international export projects implemented after the ‘Contract of the Century,’ it made it possible for Azerbaijani oil to be exported westward for the first time.

By contributing to the development of energy cooperation in the region, it created a solid foundation for the implementation of subsequent major transportation projects,” the statement said.
