In January this year, 2,980,700 tons of oil were transported via main oil pipelines in Azerbaijan, which is 5.7% more than in 2021, the State Statistics Committee told APA-Economics.
77.2% of the transportation was carried out via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil export pipeline. During the reporting period, 2,299.9 thousand tons of oil were transported via the pipeline (2021- 8.3% less compared to the corresponding period of the previous year).
According to the report, 430,100 tons of transit oil (55.8% more than a year earlier) were transported via the BTC pipeline during the reporting period.
Notably, 35,018,000 tons of oil were transported via main oil pipelines in Azerbaijan last year, which is 0.86% more than in 2020. 75.5% of the transportation was carried out via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil export pipeline. Last year, 26,421,500 tons of oil were transported via the pipeline (3.85% less than in 2020). During the reporting period, 3,598,400 tons of transit oil (7.4% less) were transported via the BTC pipeline.
