A magnitude 5.8 earthquake was recorded near the Minahasa Peninsula in northern Sulawesi Island, Indonesia, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre reported, APA reports.
According to him, the earthquake's epicenter was 154 kilometers west of the city of Gorontalo, home to approximately 144,000 people. The epicenter was located at a depth of 184 kilometers.
There were no reports of casualties or damage. No tsunami threat was issued.
