More than 25 flights bound for Moscow airports have been diverted to other cities due to security restrictions in place at the capital's airports. Airport officials told TASS, APA reports.
Currently, 11 flights en route to Sheremetyevo from Saratov, Perm, St. Petersburg, Monastir, Antalya, Nalchik, Ufa, Samara, Tashkent, and Yekaterinburg have been diverted to alternate airfields. "Flights have been diverted to Nizhny Novgorod, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Samara, and Yaroslavl," the airport explained. Nine flights en route to Vnukovo have also been diverted to other cities. The airport noted that these flights originated from Samara, Sabetta, Ulyanovsk, Ukhta, St. Petersburg, and Makhachkala. Six flights from Baku, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Tashkent, Samarkand, and Osh made temporary stops en route to Domodedovo. "They landed in Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, and St. Petersburg," the airport's information service explained.
