Russia to require gas payments from EU in roubles from April

Russian President Vladimir Putin has given instruction to the Cabinet of Ministers, Centra Bank of the Russian Federation, and Gazprom to take measures regarding the change in the payment currency for gas supplies to EU countries and other countries applying restrictive measures in rubles, says press service of Kremlin, APA's Moscow bureau reports.

"Government of the Russian Federation must take complex measures with the Central Bank and Public Joint Stock Company Gazprom against the European Union and other countries that apply restrictive measures against Russian citizens, legal entities, and the Russian ruble to change the payment currency for natural gas supply. It should be reported on March 31, 2022, and then there should be a monthly report", noted in the information.
