“Our goal is to expand the supply of our energy resources to the European market,” said Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan – Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev during the panel “South Caucasus: Emerging Strategic Hub” held within the framework of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Türkiye reports.
He noted: “As for Azerbaijan’s energy policy, we have acted as a reliable partner for the European Union and other partners. At the same time, we are expanding the geography of Azerbaijan’s energy exports. Recently, together with Türkiye, we have started supplying Azerbaijani gas to Syria. This is considered a successful model of trilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Syria. Azerbaijan will continue to contribute to global energy supply, especially towards Europe. At the same time, we observe that global energy security is experiencing certain disruptions. Therefore, along with hydrocarbon resources, Azerbaijan is also investing in renewable energy potential and aims to expand export opportunities in this field. Our goal is to expand the supply of our energy resources to the European market. In this direction, we are also cooperating with our Central Asian partners to facilitate the transportation of their resources,” Hikmat Hajiyev added.
