Azerbaijan’s ACE platform produces 2.1 mln tons of oil since launch

A total of 2.1 million tons of oil has been produced to date from the Azeri Central East (ACE) platform built as part of the development of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) block of fields located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, APA-Economics reports, citing the Ministry of Energy.

According to the information, two years have passed since oil production began at the ACE platform.

“From the start of production until April 15, 2026, 2.1 million tons of oil have been produced from the platform,” the information states.

Recall that the agreement on the joint development and production sharing of the ACG fields was signed on September 20, 1994. On September 14, 2017, the production sharing agreement on ACG was amended, restated, and signed.

The production sharing in ACG is distributed as follows: BP – 30.37% (operator), AzACG (SOCAR) – 31.65%, MOL – 9.57%, Inpex – 9.31%, ExxonMobil – 6.79%, TPAO – 5.73%, Itochu – 3.65%, and ONGC Videsh Ltd. (OVL) – 2.92%.
