Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan`s Parliament, met with Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, head of the delegation of the Turkish Grand National Assembly to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, former foreign minister, the press and public relations department of the Milli Majlis told APA.
Highlighting the friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, which are successfully developing under the motto "One nation, two states," the sides underscored that these relations have reached the highest level today thanks to the political will and joint efforts of the heads of state.
The two praised the unity and solidarity in interparliamentary relations between the two countries. Noting that Azerbaijan and Türkiye enjoy high-level interparliamentary collaboration, they mentioned notable contribution of the contacts between the parliamentary speakers, friendship groups and MPs to bolstering relations.
The meeting also focused on exemplary organization of COP29 in Baku, describing it as a testament to Azerbaijan’s commitment to addressing global challenges.
The parties also discussed the current situation in the region, and highlighted the importance of the international conference of the Western Azerbaijan Community on the right of return of Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia.
