Initiative Group â€œMovement for Karabakh and Republicâ€ submits documents to CEC

Baku. Elnur Mammadli â€“ APA. Initiative Group â€œMovement for Karabakh and Republicâ€ has today sent a notification to the Central Election Commission (CEC), Deputy chairman of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party, responsible representative of the group Hasan Karimov told APA. He said that all the necessary documents for establishing the initiative group had been prepared in line with the Electoral Code and instructions of the CEC, signatures of over 2000 initiators had been collected. Karimov said according to the legislation, CEC has to consider the appeal and present signature sheets within five days.

Opposition parties protesting against the March 18 referendum on amendments and annexes to Azerbaijanâ€™s Constitution established Initiative Group â€œMovement for Karabakh and Republicâ€. Musavat Party, Popular Front Party, Liberal Party, Citizen and Development Party, Hope Party and a number of public organizations are represented in the group.
