Musavat Party establishes agitation group for referendum campaign

Baku. Elnur Mammadliâ€“APA. Musavat Partyâ€™s â€œThe Republicansâ€ initiative group for March 18 Referendum on the constitutional changes in Azerbaijan held its meeting on Wednesday. Head of the partyâ€™s election department Gulaga Aslanli said 2450 people attended the regional initiative groupsâ€™ preliminary meetings and decided to establish â€œThe Republicansâ€ agitation group. Musavat leader Isa Gambar said they founded serious movement against the constitutional changes in the country. He said referendum should contribute to the development of human freedoms and reducing of executive powerâ€™s authorities. â€œThe current referendum is restricting the human freedoms and rights and extending the executive authorities, but the government canâ€™t achieve success by this wayâ€.

â€œThe Republicansâ€ agitation group was established at the meeting on the basis of proposals of the initiative groups.

Aslanli said they would send notification to the Central Election Commission soon.
