Opposition parties protesting constitutional amendments and changes establish their Agitation Group

Baku. Elnur Mammadli–APA. Opposition parties protesting the constitutional amendments and changes have established their Agitation Group “Movement for Karabakh and the Republic”. Speaking at the meeting in the office of Azerbaijan Democratic Party (ADP), AXCP Deputy Chairman Hasan Karimov said 50 preliminary initiative groups of 2500 members had held their meetings since declaring about the Initiative Group, APA reports. He said representatives of the political parties, public organizations and non-parties were involved in the initiative groups. 25 authoritative members of the group were determined at the meeting. Hasan Karimov will represent the group at the Central Election Commission (CEC), ADP Council Chairman Vagif Shirinov will be a financial representative. The notification about the establishing the Agitation Group will be sent to CEC on Wednesday.

AXCP Chairman Ali Karimli addressed the meeting and emphasized the importance of explaining the amendments to the people. He said the opposition should end the discords and to unite.

Democratic, Musavat, People’s Front, Citizen and Development, Umid, Liberal parties and several public organizations were involved in the Agitation Group.
