Every Azerbaijani should go to military service,” Colonel Rasim Sadigov, Chief of Socio-Political Department of Military Registration and Enlistment Office told APA
To him, law-enforcement bodies are informed about deserters.
“Active duty recall is realized under the order of the President and Military registration and Enlistment Office executes the decision. I do not consider that there could be mass desertion ,” he said.
Lieutenant Colonel Eldar Sabiroglu, Spokesman for Defense Ministry told APA that he did not agree to opinions sounded in Nardaran on death cases and unlawfulness in Armed Forces.
“ claims sounded related to Army are not real. There is not any problem on military service of Azerbaijanis. Number of deserters is few in number. I assess these claims as unreal opinions of individuals,” he added.
“ Remarks said in Nardaran are not applicable to all residents of the village . Nobody can say that resident of Nardaran live with slogans said in their protest actions. I had been in this village several times and familiarized with local situation,” MP Haji Mader Musayev told APA .
Musayev was satisfied with meetings held in Nardaran. MP took stance on claims sounded against MPs during protest actions in the village.
“ Mujahad or Council of Confessors are responsible to give a judgment on somebody . We should give a judgment against Armenians, not each others. Citizens of country, which its 20% territories were occupied, should be ready for fighting. There is no need for anxiety on issue in Palestine. Azerbaijani Government has taken position on this issue,” he said.
“We thought our national interests during all our speeches. Opinions made by Nardaran residents during today’s protest action are groundless,” MP Zahid Orujov told APA . He noted that his interview given to one of the Azerbaijanis TV Channels was misunderstood by Nardaran residents.
“We understand their opinions on Israel’s offensive into Gaza Strip,” he added.
MP Aydin Mirzazade said he was surprise at the statements made the rally.
“I was not speaking as a representative of a party. I simply pushed the cessation of hostilities and the establishment of peace,” he added.
MP Ganira Pashayeva added that the statements, which were chanted at the rally in Nardaran, accusing MPs of serving the interests of Israel is not true.
“This is a subjective opinion of one of the speakers at the rally. I believe that other residents here do not share this view. I have previously stressed the need to restore peace in the Middle East. I am surprised that my position is distorted and misrepresented. I have always prioritized the interests of Azerbaijan. I’m waiting for the person who accused me to apologize. Every citizen of Azerbaijan should fulfill their duty for the homeland, and shouldn’t evade military service,” she added.
Akif Nagi, Chairman of Karabakh Liberation Organization, said that it is unacceptable to dodge any form of military service in the army.
“In the army there may exist some negative facts. But there is no need to exaggerate this issue and form a negative opinion. You shouldn’t forget that Azerbaijan is a victim of aggression,” he added.
Dadash Rzayev, Ex-Defense Minister of Defense, Chairman of the Confederation of Reserve Officers, underscored citizen’s rejecting to go to military service as a step against the constitution and statehood.
“By law, every citizen should take part in the defense of the nation. This is specified in the Constitution,” he added.
In his view, under current circumstances there is no reason for refusing military service.
He said that the armed forces are developing, and the logistics base is strengthening.
According to him, such thoughts could have a negative impact on the psyche of soldiers.
Theologian Ilgar Ibrahimoglu said that the statements announced at the rally is not the opinion of the entire population of Nardaran.
“In the village, there are well-known and venerable elders. They have never expressed the thoughts of objection to military service in the army. Residents of Nardaran have always been patriots,” he added
Natig Kerimov, one of the elders of Nardaran, told APA that the thoughts expressed at the rally shouldn’t be understood as a general view of the population living in the village.
“Young people at the rally often make emotional statements,” he added.
He also spoke about the death fatwa made for Sabir Rustamhanli.
“Once Sabir Rustamhanli called Nardaran residents as illiterate people. Personally, as a resident of the village, invite him to a TV debate. Let him come and debate with me and we’ll see who is literate?
